Japan is now officially a part of the Fall-Spring calendar, with J1, J2, & J3 all kicking off their 26/2 seasons (and JFL, the 4th tier, starting in a few weeks).

The Swiss Super League decided to turn into the Swiss Bundesliga on Sunday. There were 20 goals across the 4 games on the 9th, and the lowest-scoring was St. Gallen 2-2 Luzern. Lugano smashed FC Zürich 5-0, Basel beat reigning champions Thun 4-2, and Sion beat Vaduz 3-2.

One of the most thrilling and end-to-end leagues in the world, the 2. Bundesliga, started back up as well. Energie Cottbus beat Hannover 96 in their first game back in the league after 12 seasons in 3. Liga and Regionalliga.

Other leagues that started up again include Portugal, Turkey, Belgium, Netherlands, & France’s lower divisions (including the inaugural “Ligue 3”, a revamped 3rd tier with more money & support from the federation).

Transfermarkt was down for most of the weekend, making everyone realize just how much they actually use it, and almost certainly delaying some deals in smaller clubs since so many people seem to put insane amounts of weight behind their transfer values…

Finally, it’s now been 2 weeks since Chicharito was announced as the first-ever Atlético Dallas player (a new USL Championship team), and it still hasn’t sunk in with me.
